Conceived in Spring 2007, the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra is one of Toronto's great newfound musical gems.
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra is to:
- Combine the talents of student, community, pre-professional and professional musicians in a rigorous, artistically challenging and satisfying orchestral experience.
- Offer an annual series of innovatively programmed, high-quality, low-cost symphonic and pops concerts
- Further serve the community with special concerts, collaborations, and educational programs.
- Help cultivate new fine arts audiences.
Executive Director’s message:
The past three seasons have been an exciting time of growth for GTPO. Since its creation the GTPO has been supporting the talented young performers and music passionate, offering a fine music experience to broad audiences at affordable rates.
Our 2011/12 Season has expanded geographically to include a concert at Columbus Centre, a popular community and multicultural centre in the north-west area of Toronto. It will continue to feature rich arrays of programs from the classic to contemporary repertoire under the direction of our guest conductors.
I invite you to join the GTPO in its 4th season and support our artistic venture.
